Dennis the Menace Park – Monterey

Dennis the Menace Park in Monterey is such a fun park to go to. Not only is it free, but it’s big, fun, and has restrooms at the entrance. From the Silicon Valley area, we leave fairly early in the morning to get there when the park opens at 10am and closes at dusk. We’ve found that in the summertime though, the park has been opening earlier than that. We’ve come here several times in the past 2 years and it has become more enjoyable now that Toby is more mobile. He still needs help on the bigger play structures, but he can keep up with Tyler now. The park has super little, little, a little bigger and biggest play structures. There are tunnels to go through and a big rickety (but safe) bridge that crosses the playground. There is also 1 big roller-type slide. The biggest play structure must be new because it wasn’t there last time we came. I highly recommend this park. It’s a 1.5 hour drive from Silicon Valley. On the way back home, we take our time as the boys are passed out from exhaustion playing in the park. It’s definitely a fun little excursion.
